Individual Details
Arthur James Clason
(13 Oct 1879 - 6 Oct 1900)
Arthur appears in the household of his parents in the City of Milwaukee with an occupation of street car conductor.
The Milwaukee Journal, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, October 8, 1900, front page, Col. 2: Sad Fate Of Bridegroom Death Stops The Honeymoon. The death of Arthur J. Clasen (sic) last Saturday evening was peculiarly sad. He was a young man, 21 years of age and married but six weeks before--Marion Le Count, the belle of Hartford and daughter of Louis Le Count, well known there. He had just settled in his new home at 318 Twenty-second avenue. He had taken but four meals there when last Tuesday afternoon while on his car on National avenue, he was taken ill of appendicitis. Saturday evening at 8 o'clock he died. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon, interment to be at Hartford. The young man was a son of S. M. Clason, also a street railway conductor on the National avenue barn. Arthur formerly worked for Stumpf & Langhoff a window trimmer, but hemorrhage of the lungs forced him to give up that position. His comrades on the line are taking up a collection to bestow a wreath of flowers on his bier. [A photo of Mr. Clason appears in the paper].
