Aldrich, 82, of Tapiola was dead on arrival Tuesday, Oct 9, 1990 at Portage View Hospital due to injuries suffered in a one-car accident. Mountain View Mortuary will announce complete funeral arrangements at a later date.

The Daily Mining Gazette, Houghton, Michigan, Friday, October 12, 1990, Page 2, Col. 6: Otter Lake---Funeral services for Taimi "Ty" Seliina Aldrich, 82, of Otter Lake, who died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 1990 at Portage View Hospital from injuries received in an automobile accident will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mountain View Mortuary in South Range.

The Rev. Michael Laakko will officiate and burial will be in the Elo Cemetery. Friends may call fro 2 to 9 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services Saturday at the funeral home.

She was born May 11, 1908 in Finland to John and Martha (Kuusisto) Paananen. She was married to Lawrence Aldrich on Aug. 9, 1927 in Trimountain. He also died on Oct. 9 as a result of the accident.

Mrs. Aldrich owned and operated Aldrich Cabins and Boats on Otter Lake with her husband since 1947. She was instrumental in the forming of the Doelle Senior Citizen Center and has remained active there as secretary.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold and Urho and one sister, Vivian Kaster.

Surviving are tow sisters, Mr. Jillian (Joseph) Girolamo of Lionia and Mrs. Helen (Harold) Campbell of Garden City; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
