Robert Melvin Pollock was born 27 January 1920 in Macomb, McDonough County, Illinois. He married on 3 October 1941 in Clayton, St Louis County, Missouri to Laura Mae Magnuson, daught of John Peter and Addie Mae (Squires) Magnuson, who was born 22 November 1922, Scott County, Illinois.

Robert served in the Coast Guard during World War II. Following the war he went to work for the King-Seeley Thermos Company of Macomb, Illinois, and remained with them for thirty-nine years, eventually as the Data Processing Supervisor for the company. He was an Alderman for the City of Macomb for four terms and in 1994 is an elected member of the McDonough County Board and a Court Bailiff for the Ninth Judicial Circuit. Robert and Laura are Republicans and members of the Presbyterian Church. They are living (1994) in Macomb, Illinois.

MACOMB - Robert M. Pollock, 80, of Macomb died Saturday, July 1, 2000, at St. John's Hospital.

Survivors: wife, Laura; two daughters, Vicki (husband, David) DeBold of Macomb and Debbie (husband, George) Rudis of Springfield; two grandchildren; and a sister, Imogene Ellis of Macomb.

Services: 11 a.m. Thursday, Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in Macomb. Burial: Good Hope Cemetery.
