The Kansas City Star, Kansas City, Missouri, August 5, 2001: Annabel Kirkpatrick, 78, of Fairway, Kansas, passed away peacefully in her sleep Thursday, August 2, 2001, at her home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 7, at the Village Presbyterian Church, 6641 Mission Rd., Prairie Village, Kansas. Burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, at the church prior to the service. Annabel was born November 6, 1922 in Fort Scott, Kansas. She attended Fort Scott Junior College and then the University of Kansas, where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta Social Sorority. She briefly attended the University of Missouri before transferring back to the University of Kansas for her senior year. She worked for Mid-Continent Airlines prior to her marriage to James W. Kirkpatrick in 1945. She was an avid bridge player and loved to travel. Over their married lifetime, Annabel and Jim traveled to over 50 countries. Annabel will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and a doting grandmother. She was a long-time member of the Village Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband, Jim of the home; daughter, Susan Kirkpatrick, Tacoma, Washington; son, Stephen Kirkpatrick, Stanley, Kansas; and a grand-daughter, Rebecca Kirkpatrick, Tacoma, Washington.
