Vicar of Bickerstaffe and of huyton, Lancashire, subsequently Rector and Rural Dean of Winwick and Canon of Liverpool. Educated at Eton and Balliol College, Oxford (B.A., 1849, M.A., 1852). He was Curate of Upton St. Leonards, Glos., and of Winwick, and then Vicar of Bickerstaffe, before becoming Vicar of Huyton and subsequently Rector of Winwick. He was Canon of Liverpool, 1869; Rector of Winwick, 1890-1917; Rural Dean of Winwick, 1892-1910; and Proctor in York Convocation, 1880-1918. he lived latterly at Brook House, lymm, Cheshire.
