Individual Details

Geoffrey Hornby

(Abt 1615 - )

"Who followed the profession of the law, and settled as an attorney at Poulton, in the Fylde, where he acquired considerable property. He bore arms.

It is probable that he had further children - William baptised at Pulton, 18 Aug., 1661, and possibly another son. One of these married "Elizabeth", who is named in Mr. Edmind Hornby's will as his sister-in-law. She was living in Lancaster, a widow, in 1705, and was probably the mother of William Hornby, Esq., of Poulton, Gentleman, who was living in 1699 and 1734; of Anne Hornby, who married James Tomlinson, Gentleman; and of Catherine Hornby, who married ___ Gibson, Gentleman."
