2nd Baronet of Brookhouse, of Barraclough, Clitheroe, Lancashire. Educated at Eton and at Magdalen Coll., Oxford. Entered his father's Brookhouse Mills cotton-spinning business, but later sold out. Served in Gt. War, 1914-1919, as Lieut., Duke of Lancaster's Own Yeomanry. J.P. (Lancs.), 1921. One-time Chairman, Blackburn Conservative Assocn., and leader of the Conservatives on Blackburn Town Council. For many years starter for the Pendle Forest and Craven Harriers Steeplechases. Succeeded his father to the Baronetcy, 1928. The Baronetcy became extinct on his death.
