Archibald Joseph DUNN

(May 1836 - Prob 1917)

Archibald was a bank clerk according to the 1871 census. By the time of the 1901 census he was a journalist and author. It is likely that Archibald was the same Archibald Joseph Dunn (1836-1917) who wrote 'The Bankers' Clearing House: Some Suggestions as to its Extension and Further Development'(published 1874), 'Frederic Ozanam and the Establishment of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul' (1877), 'The Rise and Decay of the Rule of Islam' (1877), 'St. Louis du Rhone, the New French Port in the Mediterranean' (1880), 'Mexico and her Resources' (1890), 'The Tehuantepec Railway, A New Through Route to the East (1896), 'Turkey and its Future' (1905), 'British Interests in the Persian Gulf' (1907) and 'Santo Dominingo: its Resources and its Future' (1911).

In The Edinburgh Gazette of 28 July 1893 is a list of 'Bankrupts' from the London Gazette which includes Archibald. At this time he was a journalist, living at 36 Avonmore Road, West Kensington, London.
