John MCFADDEN
(16 Aug 1890 - 23 Apr 1921)
John grew up in Co. Donegal and joined the RIC (Royal Irish Constabulary). He served in Co. Down and in Belfast before being sent to Feakle, Co. Clare in 1919. He was promoted to the position of sergeant the following year. On the night of 22 April 1921 (during the War of Independence), John was shot dead in an IRA attack in Kilrush, Co. Clare.
