Patrick (Paddy) J. BARRETT

Paddy's baptismal sponsors were Thomas Scanlon and Maria Scanlon who were the son and daughter of John and Catherine Scanlon.

Paddy was a member of London Metroplitan Police and attained the rank of Inspector. His career included some time at Scotland Yard. When on a mission to France he met his future wife, Marguerite.

Following his retirement he and Marguerite moved to Dublin where they lived at 51 Kimmage Road West. In Dublin Paddy did some private detective work and had an office on Abbey St. in Dublin.

According to Bill Hudson's "The Hudsons of Co. Kerry and their Descendants" both Paddy and his brother Jim, also a policeman in England, became Freemasons, for which they were excommunicated from the Catholic Church.
