Individual Details

I have been told that the James Harrington who married Johanna Cunningham may have come from the Irremore area of Listowel, Co. Kerry. Our Johanna's Cunningham family of Kilbaha had connections with Irremore in that a putative first cousin of Johanna's, Bishop John Francis Cunningham, was born in Irremore, supporting the theory that James was from Irremore, but this of course is no proof.

I had assumed that James would have been living in Kilbaha in the final years of his life but he died in Dooncaha. Had he moved there? The cause of death was "heart disease" of "2 days" duration.

Note: A Mary Harrington of Kilbaha, Newtownsandes, Co. Kerry emigrated to the United States in 1899 aged 25, joining her brother (whose first name or initial is illegible on the ship manifest) at 374 Lexington Avenue in Brooklyn. Could Mary have been a daughter or granddaughter of James and Johanna?
