James (Jimmy) O'SULLIVAN

(17 Dec 1883 - 6 Oct 1959)

According to information from the Mallow Heritage Centre, the sponsors at Jimmy's baptism were James Doody and Mary Ann Murphy. It is possible that Mary Ann Murphy was Jimmy's aunt, "Big Mary" Murphy.

Jimmy worked for the railway company. At the time of his marriage in 1918 he was working as a railway guard in Waterford city (his address was Sally Park in Waterford); by the time his baby daughter Maura died in 1920 he was a stationmaster in Dunmore Upper, Co. Kilkenny; and at the time of the death of his infant twins, Maura and Michael, 11 years later he was a signalman at Castlecomer Junction, Dunmore.
