Una HUSSEY
(1 Oct 1928 - 29 Sep 1995)
Una attended school at a small French convent in Barnes in London, later transferring to the Sacred Heart Convent in Hammersmith. When Una and her sister Maureen first moved to Dublin in 1947, Michael Roantree, a Dubliner whom the Husseys knew in London, asked members of his family to show them around. And that was how Una met her future husband, Michael's younger brother Tom - their first meeting was on a tour bus going to Glendalough, Co. Wicklow.
After her move to Ireland, Una began studies at the National College of Art. However, her mother became ill shortly afterwards and Una left college to help care for her. She never returned to her art course.
