Sarah was an only daughter. It appears she died only about two months after the birth of her youngest child, Jane. There was an announcement of her death in the Kerry Evening Post of 8 March 1845: "This morning, at her husband's residence on the Mall, Sarah, the beloved wife of Edward Hudson, Esq. It is with much pain that we announce the demise of this highly estimable lady, whose amiable qualities and sincere piety endeared her to an attached husband & parents, by whom, and her many friends, she will be long and deeply regretted. Mrs. Hudson was in the prime of life when hurried off by an attack of internal inflamation, after a few days illness".
