Patrick (Pa) O'HARA

(2 Apr 1859 - 2 Dec 1951)

Pa joined the RIC (Royal Irish Constabulary) on 13 December 1876 and retired from the force on 14 August 1920. From his retirement parchment we know that Pa at age 61 years and five months was 5' 11" with grey hair and grey eyes. According to his marriage certificate, Pa was living in the townland of Derreenavoggy in Boyle, Co. Roscommon at the time of his marriage in 1885. At the time of the 1911 census, Pa and his family were living in Kinnegad, Co. Westmeath.

Pa and Mud are believed to have been cousins. According to the 1911 census, Pa and Mud had 14 children born alive, only nine of whom were still alive at the time of the census. The family, who lived in Kinnegad, Co. Westmeath at the time of the 1911 census, eventually moved Skerries, Co. Dublin.
