Initially we were unable to find a baptism record for William in north Kerry parish registers. However, Hudson researcher Tom Moloney came across a record of a baptism of a William Riordan of Bunagara on 7 August 1818. The father's name, William Riordan, is crossed out and is followed by Richard Hudson, which is followed by the mother's name, [first name illegible, though the Irish Genealogy website has deciphered it as Margaret] Finucane. Sponsors appear to have been Edward Riordan and Betty Finucane. It is likely, therefore, that this is the baptism record of our William, who we knew to have been born around 1818.

William worked as a labourer in Philadelphia and helped his brother Frank in his plastering business. According to his death certificate, William died at his home in Suffolk St., Philadelphia of "phthisis" (a form of tuberculosis). Apparently William had a white beard and smoked a pipe.
