A baptism record has been found in Athea parish registers for a Mary Shanahan, daughter of John Shanahan and Mary Woulfe. She was baptised on 30 November 1840, with sponsors Patrick Woulfe and Catherine Woulfe. While our Mary above most likely was born in Kilbaha, where the family lived, I believe this record to be our Mary's as it was common practice at the time to have the first child baptised in the mother's home parish.
