Individual Details
Alexander TIDMARSH
( - 1 Oct 1872)
Alexander worked in the drapery business with his brother Frank. It appears he was the Alexander Tidmarsh who went on to co-found in 1825 Benner & Tidmarsh, a distillery business in Ballymullen, Tralee and later a brewery, Cox and Tidmarsh, also in Ballymullen.
Cox and Tidmarch was co-founded with William Cox (could this have been the William Cox who married Sarah Hudson, sister of Alexander's probable sister-in-law Margaret Hudson who was married to Alexander's probable brother James?) but Alexander and William had a falling out over money, a court case ensued and by 1837 Alexander had left the company. He and his wife, Christiana, later emigrated to Canada and lived in Montreal. They may have had more children than Samuel below.
Note: Alexander's brother Frank was married Christiana's sister Mary.
