Individual Details

Thomas MOLLOY

(Abt 1835 - 16 Jun 1920)

Thomas inherited the family farm in Ballyfermoyle. Following his death the farm went to his daughter Anne McManus and her husband.

Note: Birth records of the children of Thomas and his wife, Ann tell us they were born in Ballyfermoyle, and the death records of those who died before 1900 give Ballyfermoyle as their place of death. However, according to the 1901 and 1911 censuses, the family was living in Breanletter, and death records after 1900 give Breanletter as the place of death, although it does not appear that the family moved. Ballyfermoyle and Breanletter are adjoining townlands in the north-east corner of Ardcarne parish so it is possible the Molloy farm straddled the two townlands.
