According to his obituary in the Kerry Weekly Reporter of 19 September 1903, Richard was the second son of John and Lizzie. The obituary also tells us that Richard succeeded his father at the Estate Office in Dingle (position not specified) following his death. Richard was also secretary to the Dingle Harbour Board and a member of the Dingle District Council. He was unmarried.
