Nathaniel was born, say, 1682, probably in Newtown, Queens Co., Long Island, NY. He was the son of John Hart Jr. and Mary Hunt, and one of five Hart brothers who settled in the Hopewell-Trenton-Ewing area of old Hunterdon (now Mercer) Co., NJ.
Based on his estate records, he died in Jan.-Mar. 1742, presumably at his residence in Hopewell Twp., old Hunterdon Co.
In his will, he named wife Elizabeth and four minor children: Ephraim, Ann, Elizabeth, and Moses. Moses is thought to be the same who died in 1812.
