Dorothy and her husband Nicholas were innkeepers, thought to be the Red Lyon Inn in Boston, which was on the corner of North and Richmond Streets. After the death of her husband, Dorothy continued to run the inn being allowed to keep a public house of entertainment including drawing beer.
Dorothy's father's name is given as Bernard in Torrey's marriages book.
