Thomas Hart Roundtree
(Abt 1765 - Abt 1828)
Thomas came to Lincoln County, Tennessee prior to 1810. He settled on Mulberry Creek, a tributary of the Elk River. There he served as a captain in the local militia, damned the creek and built the first cotton mill in 1820. He also operated a tavern, owned a farm, and platted and established the town of Lynchburg in 1820. Second wife Sarah in 1840 census of Lincoln County (p. 003). Also in 1850 census, same county.
