Emiline Woodford being David's first wife is supported by affidavits by Annie Strayer and Mary Ann Dubor, both of Gratiot Co. and neighbors of David and Emaline in Fulton Co. Ohio and Lenawee Co. Michigan. They were included in David's dependent father's pension file #491.901 application for which was based on John q's Civil war service. David's own statement in file says he married Emiline at Adrian MI 14 June 1842 and she died about 15 May 1849
