Ervin O. Wyse, age 85 of Dundee died Wednesday, Oct. 10th at 2:25 PM at his home.

He was born in Archbold, Ohio on Nov. 2, 1921, to Henry and Lydia (Frey) Wyse. He married Phyllis M. Seidel on January 25, 1947, at Deerfield, Michigan. She died December 30, 1991.

He was a self-employed excavating contractor since 1959 and had moved to this area in 1941 from Ohio.

He was a community-minded person who was a member of the Monroe County Fair Board for 42 years and laid the stone base for the Little Smokey Railroad at the Monroe County Fairgrounds.

He was a member of the Dundee United Methodist Church and volunteered to do the excavating work of the church and its parsonage. He also was a volunteer for the Dundee Caring and Sharing Program.

Survivors include two sons: Michael (Tari) Wyse of Ann Arbor and Daniel (Dawn) Wyse of Dundee, two grandchildren: Kimberly (Jon) Cooper of Bellevue, Ohio and Aaron Wyse of Ann Arbor, a great-grandson Benjamin Cooper, living brother: Mahlon (Valeria) Wyse of Archbold, Ohio, three living sisters: Carol (Lloyd) Neuenschwander of Berne, Indiana, Doris (Cecil) Albreicht of Woodburn, Indiana, and Valetta (Duane) Miller of Midland, Michigan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, brother: Ora (Ruby) Wyse and sisters: Mary (Ted) Walborn and Alta (Lester) Short.

Friends may call Friday from 4-9 PM at Cover Funeral Home in Dundee. He will lie in state Saturday from 10 AM until 11 AM services at Dundee United Methodist Church. Officiating Rev. Kathleen Groff. Burial will follow at the Deerfield Cemetery in Deerfield.

Memorials may be made to the Dundee United Methodist Church Parking Lot Fund or Mercy Memorial Hospice.
