Erma Ruth Wyse, 96, of Midland, died peacefully, on Aug. 29, 2012 at MidMichigan Stratford Village. Erma was born in Pigeon, on April 24, 1916, to the late John and Elizabeth (Gunden) Steckley. On Sept. 20, 1936 Erma married her sweetheart Willard Wyse, in Pigeon. Willard predeceased Erma in 2007. Erma was a homemaker and proud of it. After Willard's retirement, Erma and Willard enjoyed traveling and spending the winters in Texas. Erma is a member of Our Redeemer Church.

Erma is survived by her sons, Gilbert D. (Ardy) Wyse of British Columbia, Canada, Leland (Nancy) Wyse of Midland; grandchildren, Kevin Wyse, Jay Wyse, Heidi Wyse Ryan, Brad Wyse, Patrick Wyse and 14 great-grandchildren. Erma we predeceased by her grandson, Jeffrey Wyse; and her brother, John Steckley. A Funeral Service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 5 at Smith-Miner Funeral Home located at 2700 W. Wackerly in Midland, with the Reverend Mark Burks officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 4 until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 4 and from 10 a.m. unti the time of service on Wednesday at the Funeral Home.
