Stephen Paine IV
(30 Apr 1708 - Feb 1797)
He moved to Preston after the death of his father and from there to North Bolton where he became the owner of large estates and devoted himself to farming. He was a patriot and though he was too old to fight, he encouraged his sons and all of them did fight in the Revolutionary War.
