Jacob Briggs

(20 Apr 1739 - 25 Dec 1821)

Jacob served in the Colonial Wars in the Reduction of Canada, 2 April 1757 to 11 Sept. 1758 (Massachusetts Archives Volume 95, p. 268 and p. 380) and in the Revolutionary War as a private in the Lexingtom Alarm. The will of Jacob Briggs was executed at MAnsfield on 20 Jun 1806 and probated 2 July 1822. The witnesses were John Williams, Jr., and Marcus Williams. Beneficiaries were: wife Esther; sons Jacob and Emerson; daughters Lusylda, wife of Obadiah Brintnall, Sally, wife of Abraham Crowley, and Esther, wife if Nathan Starkley (Bristol County Probates, 59:367)
