Humphrey de Bohun, 2nd Earl of Hereford was born circa 1200.2 He was the son of Henry de Bohun, 1st Earl of Hereford and Matilda fitz Geoffrey.3 He married, firstly, Maud d'Eu, daughter of Raoul d'Exoudun, 7th Comte d'Eu and Alice d'Eu, Comtesse d'Eu.1 He died on 24 September 1275.1
He gained the title of 1st Earl of Essex.2 He succeeded to the title of 2nd Earl of Hereford [E., 1200] on 1 June 1220.3
