Frances Ward was the daughter of Reverend William Ward and Elizabeth Hawkes.1 She married Washington Shirley, 8th Earl Ferrers, son of Robert Shirley, 6th Earl Ferrers and Catherine Cotton, on 24 July 1781.1 She died on 4 March 1812.1
Her married name became Shirley.
