Marie de Lusignan was the daughter of Hugues XI de Lusignan, Comte de la Marche and Yolande de Bretagne, Comtesse de Penthièvre et Porhoët. She married Robert de Ferrers, 6th Earl of Derby, son of William de Ferrers, 5th Earl of Derby and Margaret de Quincy, in 1249. She died between 11 July 1266 and 1269.1

Palmer says that Maria le Brun was the daughter of Hugh le Brun and a niece of Henry III. Hugh le Brun was an alternate name for Marie's father, Hugues XI de Lusignan, Comte de la Marche.
