Gruffydd ap Llywelyn, King of Wales was born circa 1007.2 He was the son of Llywelyn ap Seisyll and Angharad ferch Maredudd. He married Ealdgyth (?), daughter of Ælfgar, Earl of Mercia and Elfleda (?), between 1050 and 1057.1 He died on 5 August 1063.1,2
He succeeded to the title of King of Gwynedd in 1039.2 He succeeded to the title of King Gruffydd I of Wales in 1055.1,3
