Martha Ann (Wilson) Fowler was born 1 Feb 1852 in Yellville, Arkansas, the third of the four children of James Arthur and Temperance Ann (Young) Wilson who had married in 1844 in North Carolina. In 1849, they moved to Marion County, Arkansas near James brother, Isaac and cousin, Elisha. James and Temperance's son Richmond P. "Dick" Wilson was born 1847 in North Carolina. Daughter Mary Ann born 1850 died as an infant. Youngest son, Jesse Young Wilson was born in 1854.Temperance Ann (Young) Wilson was born in 1828 in North Carolina to Jesse and Mary (Faulkner) Young. In 1861, the family moved along the Brazos River in Texas. There, Temperance died in 1865 and was buried in Texas. The family returned to Arkansas where James Arthur and his older son married sisters, Mary Agness and Carolina P. Cowdrey, daughters of Dr. James M. and Agness (McCubbin) Cowdrey of Yellville. Richard and Caroline lived at Rally Hill and James and Mary in Harrison. In his second marriage, James Arthur and Mary Agness (Cowdrey) WIlson were the parents of sons, Ernest and Claude.
