Bérenger Ier de Millau then Bérenger de Carlat , born around 1025 , died around 1080 was Viscount of Millau and Rodez in 1051, and, by marriage, Viscount of Carlat . He was the son of Richard II, viscount of Millau and Rodez, and of Rixinde de Narbonne .
Biography
Around 1080 , with his wife Adèle and Nobilia de Lodève, mother of Adèle, as well as their three children Richard, Gilbert and Raymond, he made a donation to the abbey founded by Gausbert, monk in Saint-Amans de Rodez , with a land between four crosses forming a saving dependent on the castle of Mandulphe , and for the spiritual of the parish of Junhac . The name of Montsalvy ( Montis Salvii ) does not appear until 1093 in a bull of Celestine III which directly links the new abbey to the Holy See .

Before 1050 , he married Adèle, viscountess of Carlat , daughter of Girbert, viscount of Carlat, and of Nobilia, viscountess of Lodève. They had at least three sons:
Richard III Millau († 1135), father of Hugues I st , († 1159), Viscount of Carlat , Count of Rodez .
