* He was cutting down a tree after storm and it was under some pressure. When he cut it, it sprang up and hit him in the groin. According to Grandmother Roberts, "his testicles had swollen to the size of basketballs" before he died several days after the accident.
* later did some farming and had a small store at home till about time of automobiles
