* served in Phillips' Legion (Cavalry Battalion, Company A?) during the Civil War. Three horses shot out from under him but never wounded.
* After marriage, moved to Washington County briefly but then returned home. Then bought property in Hancock County which remains in family today (2000)
* Black Springs Baptist Church, Baldwin County, GA located on Route 22 north of Milledgeville GA.
