According to "The Kennamer Family," Riley T. served four years in the Confederate army and rose to captaincy of COmpany G, Johnson's Brigade. He was wounded four times.
After the war, he built wagons and carriages and had excellent business success. He then moved into the mechantile business and banking. He owned the bank at Demorest, GA and was president of the White County Bank in Cleveland, GA.
