Sotonewall's wife, Mary, was also mentioned as a descendant of original settlers. At the time, he owned both a plantation and a store in Renfroe.
Could the store have been called "Spivey and Patterson?" One of the original subscribers to the capital stock of the Bank of Cuseta was Spivey and Patterson. The bank was founded in 1907 and prospered but was closed in 1926 and adjudged insolvent. The building housing the band burned in 1930.
