Individual Details

Cora Alma Gardner

(21 Jul 1876 - 23 Jun 1963)

In June 2001, I requested a copy of Cora's birth certificate from Hamilton County, OH. I used the date 21 Jul 1876 from Cora's death certificate. The 1910 census lists Jul 1878 as Cora's birth date. Perhaps another search should be done to try and find her birth certificate.

In the 1910 Cook County, IL census, Cora stated that she had had four children, only one of which was still alive.

Cora was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America

quote: "Don't take yourself too seriously; nobody else does."

Cora's death certificate lists her as a widow but we know that George had left earlier and was remarried. Cora always considered herself a widow. Further research needs to be done to try and locate divorce documents if they exist.
