Jesse Wilbur Hoffpauir Jr. died at 11:25 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, in his residence. He was a native of Rayne and lived in Lake Charles for the past 38 years. He was a graduate of Rayne High School and was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 106. He worked for 13 years at United Gas Co., and for the past 15 years was a maintenance supervisor at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital. He was owner and operator of the Neighbor Hood Bar. He was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife, Rita Berken Hoffpauir of Lake Charles; one son, Michael Hoffpauir of Lake Charles; his father, Jesse Wilbur Hoffpauir Sr. of Crowley; one brother, Glen Hoffpauir of Amarillo, Texas; one sister, Brenda Hargrave of Rayne; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, from Christ the King Catholic Church. Monsignor Ronald Groth will officiate. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. in St. Leo's Cemetery at Robert's Cove under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation is 3-10 p.m. Monday and 8-10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.
