Olive Faye Hoffpauir

SULPHUR - Olive F. Hansen, 66, died Tuesday, May 20, 2003, in her residence. She was a native and lifelong resident of Sulphur. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of Sulphur High School and McNeese State University. As a teacher at various schools during her career, she touched the lives of many young people. She was a member of many organizations, including The Retired Calcasieu Association of Educators, The Retired Louisiana Association of Educators, The Retired National Association of Educators, Calcasieu Parish Reading Council, the Alpha Gamma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society, the Louisiana Congressional Contact Team, the Brimstone Society, McNeese Alumni Association, Calcasieu French Music Association, the credit committee for the Calcasieu Parish Teachers and Employees Credit Union, West Calcasieu Chamber of Commerce, the Rotary Club of Sulphur, AARP and the Calcasieu-Cameron Fair Assoiciation Board. Survivors include her husband, Charles Hansen of Sulphur; her father, Arthur Curtis Hoffpauir of Sulphur; four children, Cindy Dowers and husband Bill of DeQuincy, Fritzi Fralick and husband Donald, Jack Hansen and wife Lisa, and Chuck Hansen and wife Allison, all of Sulphur; one brother, Arthur James Hoffpauir of Choupique; one sister, Mary Virginia Wade of Lafayette; 11 grandchildren, Kristin Brooks, Dustin Hansen, Josh Hansen, Bryan Fralick, Raymond Pena, Jake Dowers, Anna Faye Dowers, Will Hansen, Lauren Hansen, Hannah Hansen and Nicole Hansen; and one great-grandchild, Peyton Brooks. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 22, in Wesley United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Roselawn Cemetery under the direction of Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home.
