Burial
Obituary: Mary Frances Clanan Hoffpauir, 89, of Lake Charles, passed away peacefully on Dec. 19, 2018, surrounded by loved ones. Originally from Port Arthur, Texas, she lived the majority of her life in Lake Charles, where she taught at both Fairview Elementary and Oak Park Middle School before her retirement from Calcasieu Parish School System. A devout Catholic, a communicant and Altar Society member of Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, she attended mass daily upon her retirement. When she was no longer able to attend daily Mass, she watched daily on television station EWTN. She remained active in her Rosary Group until the time of her death. She lived her life with seemingly unlimited faith, devotion, patience, forgiveness, understanding and love. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin G. Hoffpauir; and a daughter, Bonnie Sue Hoffpauir Jones (Barry). Those left behind to cherish her memory and strive to emulate her life are sister, Elizabeth Clanan Eaves (Tommy); sons and daughters, Alvin Karl Hoffpauir (Cyndi), Vicki Hoffpauir Weldon (Jeff), Don Kevin Hoffpauir (Shannan), Donna Hoffpauir Muth (Brady), Dena Faye Hoffpauir and Anita Marie Hoffpauir; grandchildren, Alexis, Michael (Lisa), and Matthew Jones, Adrienne Hebert (Jude) and Brad Miller, Bryant (Kelli) and Evan Weldon (Winter Duhon), Kylie Muth Wippel (Aaron), and Keegan Muth, Hannah Hoffpauir Britt (Kevin) and Lauren Wofford; great-grandchildren, Elyse and Madalyn Britt, Gavin and Leighton Jones, Rowan Jones, Henry Weldon, Jacques and Colette Hebert, Deven and Elyse Peddie, and Bodhi Wippel (expected February 2019); numerous nieces and nephews, and many special friends, including those in her Rosary and Alanon groups. A memorial Mass will be at 11:15 a.m. Friday, Dec. 28, at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Monsignor Daniel Torres will officiate. A gathering of family and friends will be immediately after mass in the Family Life Center.Published in American Press from Dec. 26 to Dec. 27, 2018Endnotes
