Death
Obituary: Velma Margaret Hoffpauir, 92, died Tuesday, June 26, 2007. in her residence. She was a native of Iota and had been a resident of Sulphur for over 70 years. Mrs. Hoffpauir enjoyed playing bingo, working crossword puzzles, and spending time with her family, which she adored. Survivors include two daughters, Carmelita Raymond and Janet Hoeflicker and husband, Tommy all of Sulphur, ten grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Hoffpauir, her son, Staff Sergeant Terrell Hoffpauir, and three sisters, Verbie Guidry, Hilda Trahan, and Wilma Hoffpauir. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 29, in Hixon-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Joe Gosselin will officiate. Burial will be in Mimosa Pines South Cemetery in Carlyss. Visitation is from 11 a.m., - 9 p.m. today, with a rosary service at 7 p.m. and from 8 a.m. until the time of service Friday in the funeral home.
