Terrel David "Terry" Hoffpauir

(8 May 1942 - Abt 1975)

Barbara Hill posted an article from the Times-Picayune, Saturday Feb. 13, 1999 - National section, page A4:
"Killer is Free After Suit by Victim's Kin Tossed" - Paul "Tex" Chandler was freed on parole. He was sentenced in 1975 after shooting 2 men in a Bossier Parish bar, including Air Force Sgt. Terrel HOFFPAUIR, who was stationed at Barksdale AFB. Article mentioned his wife Vicki, and daughter Tracey who now lives in California. I think the by-line was from Baton Rouge.
Edgar 'Buddy' Hoffpauir followed up that post with the following information:
Terry was my first cousin. He owned a bar in Bossier city and was in the process of buying another from a lady that was either separated or divorced from her husband. Terry went to the bar she owned to talk with her and her lawer to finalize the deal. They were all setting at the table and her husband came in the front door with a shotgun and shot Terry and the lawer. His dad was Dave Hoffpauir s/o Charlie s/o Ephreim s/o Ephreim s/o Manoah s/o Thomas.
