Burial
Obituary: Ebenezer - Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 24, 2014 at the Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Leona Bernice Stutes, Hoffpauir, who died at 4:45 A.M. Saturday, March 22, 2014 at Magnolia Estates in Lafayette, LA. Rev. Charlie Floyd will conduct the services and the burial will follow in the Ebenezer Methodist Cemetery. Visitation may be observed on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from 10:00 a.m. until service time. Mrs. Hoffpauir was born May 31, 1921 in Ebenezer, LA to the late Rufus Cole Stutes and Martha Lee Faulk Stutes. She attended elementary school in Ebenezer and was a Graduate of Crowley High School where she met her late husband of 56 years, Gervice Hoffpauir, Sr. During her career she worked for The Texas Company and ended her career working many years for Conoco, in Egan, LA. She was a lifelong member of the First Methodist Church of Crowley and a longtime member of the Rebecca's. She was also a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to bake, crochet and listen to Billy Graham. She is survived by two sons Gervice Hoffpauir, Jr. (Valerie) of Broussard, LA and Gerald Hoffpauir (Mona) of Church Point; a brother Nathan Stutes of Lake Charles; six grandchildren, David Hoffpauir (Kim), Brooke H. Jeansonne (Shawn), Christopher Hoffpauir (Beth), Jessica H. Thornton (Sean), Jessica Nolan and Julienne Mangion (Gregory); seven great grandchildren, Cullen Hoffpauir, Tyler Jeansonne, Lance Cates, Benjamin Hoffpauir, Casady McEvoy, Anna Hughes and Darby Kelley. The family would like to express their gratitude to the Magnolia Estates staff, especially Connie and Shasey. Thanks also to Heart of Hospice for their loving care and support.
