Burial
Obituary: Funeral Services will be held for Julia Hoffpauir Scoggins, 95, of Leesville on Tuesday, September 1, 2009, 2 p.m. at Hixson Funeral Home of Leesville. Minister officiating will be the Rev. Hank Hamilton. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home. Visitation will begin Monday, August 31, 2009, 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Hixson Chapel. Julia was a native of Woodsboro, Texas but had lived in the Leesville area for the past 50 years. She was a music teacher and formed the first band for Leesville High School, also the choir director for the Anacoco School, and a member of the Methodist Church of Leesville. Survivors include one daughter, Dianne Council and husband John of Leesville; one brother, E.A. Hoffpauir, Jr and wife Wanda of Leesville; two grandchildren, Renee Schmidt and husband Paul of Leesville and James M. Harrison and wife Erma of Herford, Arizona; six great grandchildren, Candace, Rebecca, Sean, Destinee, Kira and Austin. She was preceded in death by her husband Ruffin A. Scoggins.Endnotes
