Obituary: Funeral services for Asa Lee Hoffpauir, 81, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, in Johnson Funeral Home. John Manning, Albert Houk and Robbie Bacon will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation is 4-10 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. Wednesday. Mr. Hoffpauir died at 5:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 8, 2001, in a local hospital. He was an office manager for Mud Movers Inc., and was a dispatcher for BFI. He attended South City Christian Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Elkins Hoffpauir of Lake Charles; one son, Mickey Paul Hoffpauir of Atlanta, La.; five daughters, Vivian Lee Houk of New Braunfels, Texas, Mandy Lynn Spittler of Nederland, Texas, and Bonnie Rae Manning, Susan Diane Hoffpauir and Catherine Ann Hoffpauir, all of Lake Charles; three sisters, Ella Mae Istre, Velma Dailey and Nell Morgan, all of Lake Charles; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
