Burial
....While we are speaking of John Percy, he is the reason that we spell our name with an "er". He said that the original Thomas spelled it that way, and so he decided he would also. All of his children were born "ir", it was not until Ben was ready for school (ca. 1927) that he changed the spelling. My sisters-in-law still wrote to us until they died as "ir".
