Death

SCOTT - Funeral services will be held at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Scott for Joyce Mary Guidry, 59, who passed away at her residence surrounded by family and friends. Interment will take place at Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Scott. The Rev. Mark Melancon, associate pastor of Sts. Peter & Paul Church in Scott, will be the celebrant and conduct the funeral services. Mrs. Guidry, the daughter of the late Theomile Alleman and the former Sophie Thibodeaux, was a native of Lafayette. Survivors include three daughters, Mona F. Bergeron and husband, Ricky, of Leesville, La., Donna G. Thibodeaux and husband, James, of Scott, La., and Sophie L.P. Thompson and husband, Jamie A.P., of Maurice, La.; three sons, George H. Guidry Jr. and wife, Paula, of Duson, La., Randy P. Guidry and wife, Dawny, of Deridder, La., and Chad C. Guidry and wife, Tonia, of Elizabeth, La.; eight grandchildren, Christopher Miller, Samantha Russell, Nathanial Thibodeaux, Keirston Guidry, Gavin Guidry, Alanah Guidry, Victoria Thompson and Jacob Bergeron; one sister, Jeannette Guidry and husband, Archie, of Duson, La.; two brothers, Dolphy Alleman and wife, Beulah, of Duson, La., and Robert Allemand and wife, Diane, of Duson, La.; and her companion, Spurgen Creduer.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George H. Guidry Sr., one granddaughter, Crimason Thibodeaux; and two sisters, Anna Lou Hoffpauir and Anna Mae LeBlanc. The family would like to give special thanks to Merella Guidry, the staff of Hospice of Acadiana, Dr. Hoffpauir and the nurses, Patty Campbell, Jean Citizen, Beth Stringellow, Madelyne Sincke and Kelly Zaunbrecher. Visiting hours will be observed today from 10 a.m. until service time Wednesday. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today in the funeral home. Pallbearers will be George H. Guidry Jr., Randy P. Guidry, Chad C. Guidry, James Thibodeaux, Jamie Thompson and Ricky Bergeron. Honorary pallbearers will be Dolphy Alleman, Robert Allemand, Sprugen Credeur, Robert LeBlanc, Archie Guidry and Dallas LeBlanc.
