Obituary: SULPHUR-Georgia Ray Hoffpauir Atkinson, 80, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, in her residence. She was a native of Rayne and a lifelong resident of Sulphur. Mrs. Atkinson enjoyed writing editorials and was a frequent contributor to the local newspapers. She also enjoyed music, making scrapbooks, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Robert Webb and wife, Linda of Lake Charles and Russell Webb and wife, Kathy of Sulphur; three daughters, Patricia Ann Webb Trahan and husband, Ronald of Sulphur, Deborah Hope Webb Wylie and husband, Kenny of Dayton, Ohio and Jana Atkinson Rains and husband David of Lufkin, Texas; one sister, Velma Hoffpauir Perry of Sulphur; a beloved niece that she raised as her own, Lydia Bryand of Sulphur; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and many beloved lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Thomas Clark Webb Sr. on Sept. 9, 1965 and David Atkinson on Dec. 29, 1994; a son, Tommy Webb; two brothers, Sanford Lewis Hoffpauir and John Sims Hoffpauir; three sisters, Ruth Hoffpauir Champagne, Bernice Hoffpauir Chaisson, and Genevieve Hoffpauir Bryant; and two grandchildren. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Revs. Francis LaRocque and David Rains will officiate. Burial will be in big Woods cemetery.
